Quick start

  1. Open DualTrack.
  2. Grant Camera, Microphone and Screen Recording permissions when prompted (the in-app Setup panel has one-tap buttons). Screen Recording needs one app relaunch the first time.
  3. Pick your screen, camera and microphone. Optionally drag a screen region.
  4. Press Record. Use Pause/Resume as needed.
  5. Press Stop. Your session is saved to the output folder (default ~/Movies).

What you get per recording

Inside Recording-<date>/:

  • screen.mov — your screen (or selected region)
  • cam.mov — your camera
  • mic.m4a — your microphone
  • system.m4a — your computer's audio (optional)
  • timeline.fcpxml — import into DaVinci Resolve to get everything pre-synced on separate tracks
  • sync.json — a fallback list of the exact offsets, in seconds

Frequently asked questions

The camera preview is black.
Make sure the right camera is selected and that DualTrack has Camera permission. Some USB capture devices show black until they receive an input signal.

Screen recording isn't working.
Enable DualTrack under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording, then relaunch the app. This is a one-time macOS step.

How do I import into DaVinci Resolve?
In Resolve: File → Import → Timeline → choose timeline.fcpxml. All clips land on separate tracks already in sync. If your editor doesn't read FCPXML, drop each media file on its own track using the offsets in sync.json.

Does Pause remove the dead time?
Yes. Paused time is cut from every file, and all tracks stay in sync.

Where are my recordings?
In the output folder shown in the app — ~/Movies by default, or wherever you chose with the "Choose…" button.
