DualTrack DualTrack

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 July 2026

DualTrack is a screen and camera recorder for macOS. Your privacy is simple to explain because DualTrack does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data.

What DualTrack does

DualTrack records your screen, camera, microphone and system audio and saves them as separate files on your own Mac, in a folder you choose (by default ~/Movies). It also writes a synced timeline (timeline.fcpxml) and an offsets file (sync.json) next to those recordings so you can import them into a video editor. All recording and processing happens entirely on your device.

What DualTrack does NOT do

  • It does not send any recording, video, audio, or file anywhere.
  • It does not use analytics, tracking, advertising, or third-party SDKs.
  • It does not collect names, emails, identifiers, usage data, or location.
  • It has no account, no login, and no server.

Permissions

DualTrack asks macOS for the permissions it needs to function, and only uses them to create the recordings you start:

  • Camera — to record your webcam.
  • Microphone — to record your voice.
  • Screen Recording — to record your screen and system audio.

You grant these in macOS System Settings and can revoke them at any time. DualTrack never accesses these inputs unless you start a recording.

Your files

Your recordings stay on your Mac under your control. DualTrack never uploads or shares them. Deleting the files (or the app) removes everything; there is nothing stored elsewhere.

Children

DualTrack is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
